Orchid organza : Pantone colour of the year inspired make up look

I'm not a huge fan of purple eye shadow as it can easily go wrong and look like you have two black eyes! So when I got the idea in my head to do a Pantone colour of the year make up look I was half expecting the post not to go up but as you can see it has and I'm really happy with what I created and that it didn't turn out like I had gone up against mike Tyson and lost! Haha!

So if you also like the look I created keep reading to find out how I achieved it.

On my eyes I used dainty doll eye shadow base and then taking a flat shader brush and taking the pink colour I've labelled "base colour" from BH cosmetics matte colour palette I put this all over my lid up to the crease, then taking the light purple colour I've labelled "lid colour" and another flat shader brush I applied this over the first colour. Next I took the colour I've labelled "outer corner" I put this darker purple on the outer corner of my eye and in the crease to create some definition, Also taking that darker purple and putting it under my lower lash line about three quarters of the way across. With a fluffy blending brush I took the colour I've labelled "blending colour" it is a light beige colour and blended from my crease up towards my brow bone to smooth out any harsh lines and to create a softer effect nearer the brow bone, so like I said it doesn't look like I have a black eye. Also taking that blending colour and blending the darker purple under my eye to create a smooth soft look.

Now for the eyeliner I used a felt tip from Be a bombshell in onyx and created a small wing then taking it all the way across my lid as close to the lashes as possible. I then curled my lashes with my Emite lash curler and applied mascara, I used the Rimmel scandaleyes in extreme black applying this to my top and bottom lashes and then putting on a pair of my favourite Eyelure eyelashes.

On my face I applied Rimmel Match perfection in the shade 200 soft beige with a Real techniques expert face brush and then used Maybeline 24hr super stay concealer in light under my eyes and on any blemishes then blended it with my Real techniques pointed foundation brush. For my contouring I used the bronzer in my Urban Decay flushed palette and put this in the hollows of my cheeks, my temples and jaw line then used the blusher from the flushed palette and applied this to the apples of my cheeks.

On my lips I first applied my EOS lip balm and then to add a little colour again sticking with the purple/lilac colour I used L'Oreal Glamshine stain splash in the shade cause 400 and the look was complete.

I hope you liked this makeup look as much as I do if you have any other looks you would like me to do then leave me and comment and I would love to see if you recreate this look so tweet @hannahnicolab or #hannahnhearts on Instagram to show me your pictures!

Cupids wings: classic valentines look

Hello! The day of love is slowly approaching and I was inspired by my favourite red lipstick from Bourjois called sweet kiss to do a valentines makeup look. As it's a very bright red I didn't want to go for much colour on the eye so I decided on a classic winged liner with a natural pink flushed cheek. So if you want to know how I created this look keep reading!

On my face

First I used Rimmel match perfection concealer in classic beige using this under my eyes and then taking it onto my lid to use as a primer. Over that using my Real techniques expert face brush I buffed match perfection foundation in soft beige on to my skin and then match perfection translucent  powder.

I used my Naked flushed palette bronzer to contour in the hollows of my cheeks and jaw line and then taking MAC coygirl blush I applied it to the apples of my cheeks just to give a light flushed look.

On my eyes
Using the light beige colour from my BH cosmetics 88 matte colour palette I've labelled "lid base" I put this all over my lid up to the crease then on top of this I used a darker beige from the same palette, I've labelled "lid colour" putting this over my lid again up to the crease and just making sure the two colours are blended together. Now taking a light brown colour I've labelled "crease" I'm using soft shoulder from Benefit I blended this into my crease. Then just going to the light beige colour again using this on the brow bone blending it all with a fluffy blending brush.
For the liner I used the one that came in my beauty kit from college It's just a black liquid liner so any liquid liner will work I know usually it's preference of what works best for you.
To do the wing I make a line going up from my bottom lash line and then a line going out from my top lash line then joining it up in a sharp point, Filling it in then in small stokes making a line along my top lash line towards the inner corner. I try not to keep touching it up till I apply my lashes as this usually makes the line thicker and thicker and before you know it half your eye is covered in the liquid liner! Next using my Emite lash curlers I curled my lashes and then applied 2 coats of my favourite Avon super shock mascara and last popped on my lashes which where the Eyelure pre-glued lashes.

On my lips
I lined my lips with Revlon colourstay lip liner in red and with a thin lip brush applied the Bourjois sweet kiss lipstick and went around my lips with the same Rimmel concealer I used under my eyes just to touch up any mistakes and to create a neater edge.

And voila your ready to go on your romantic valentines date!

20 Facts about me!

Hello! As its Sunday I thought I would write something different so I decided to do 20 facts about me, I haven't been blogging for very long so I also thought that it was a fun way of getting to know a little more about me. Enjoy!

1.  I was born on the 9th September 1989 and my star sign is Virgo

2. When I was 14 I broke my elbow in three places by falling over whilst in a race with my dad, brother and sister, I had a lump the size of a cricket ball on my elbow...not good! my dad took my jacket off and his words were "oh I think I better call an ambulance".

3. My favourite season is summer.... because I love the sunshine!

4. My favourite scented candle smell is vanilla.

5. I think I might have an addiction to biscuits I'm currently munching on a pack of jam'n cream whilst writing this, They are my favs along with chocolate covered malted milk.

6. I have always wanted an allotment, I would love to grow my own vegetables and I would have a little shed all painted up pretty too.

7. My dream is to become a makeup artist.

8. My immune system is rubbish! I'm always getting ill if someone has a cold and I'm with them for longer than a second I'm done for.

9. I hate horror films I watched sixth sense when I was about 15 and I still freak out about it to this day and I don't even think that's a horror so I dread to think what I would be like if I did watch one.

10. I have really bad anxiety, I sometimes cant even go into a shop or leave my house on my own. I even tried getting hypnotised for it but it didn't work for me, I really hope one day I find something that does help it.

11. People are always shocked when they find out how old I am because I look really young but I look at it as a positive because when I'm 50 I'll look 40. (well I hope)

12. When I was little I wanted to be called swan lake.

13. My boyfriend always gets fed up with having to move furniture around as I get bored when a room has looked the same for too long so I'm often moving things around and having fantastic ideas of "this would look good there and this look good there" but most of the time it never works and we have to move it all back to the original place.

14. Baking is one of my favourite things to do especially if can eat what I've made as soon as its cooked.

15. I'm such a fussy sleeper I cant have my head or feet out of the covers and no one can touch me while I sleep, My boyfriend hates this as he tries to cuddle me every night and I violently push him off me in my sleep! I know I'm weird!

16. I hate prawns! The look, the smell everything about them. They gross me out!

17. I have a strange habit of having to smell a glass or cup before I can drink from it.

18. One place in the world I would love to go is Paris, I went to Disneyland Paris when I was younger but I would love to see the Eiffel tower and the Pont des arts the "love lock" bridge.

19. My favourite flowers are peonies.

20. I always wanted to be an only child when I was little but now I'm so glad I'm not as my sister is my best friend there is 14 months between us but people always used to think we were twins. I also have a brother who is 5 years younger.

Wow so that was harder than I thought it would be! It also made me realise that I have a few weird habits I should try to kick! Haha! I hope you found it interesting if so leave me a comment  I would love to read any facts about you or if we have anything in common.

clarisonic mia 2 review

I have wanted a clarisonic ever since I saw Dulce candy using hers in her skin care video and as you will know if you watch her videos her skin is amazing she always looks like she never has break outs and her skin always looks so bright and well just beautiful!
so I decided to put one on my Christmas list as it really did look great I had read a few reviews and heard various thing about the Clarisonic and wanted to join the hype!

lucky for me James got me the Clarisonic Mia 2 which was even better than I asked for as I just asked for the Mia and he also got me the full size cleanser too! and as you can guess I was a very happy bunny!

Mine came with a travel size cleanser, travel case, charger and a sensitive brush head. The brush heads are interchangeable and need to be replaced every 3 months so as I haven't got sensitive skin I will probably try a different brush head.

The Mia 2 has two speed settings a normal speed and a low speed. I always use the normal speed as for me I cant really feel the difference between them. It also has a one minute pulse T timer that  gives a small vibration every 20 seconds to indicate that you should move to the next section of your face, it recommends 20 second on your forehead, ten seconds on each cheek and 20 on your nose and chin and then after the minute it automatically turns the system off. I thought this feature was great as you know each part of you face is getting the same amount as cleansing as the rest and that you are not under cleansing.

Before I used it I made sure I read through he manual very carefully (which is not like me at all) so I knew I was using it correctly to get the best results

I use the Clarisonic cleanser with mine which is a foam cleanser but you could use and foam cleanser. I apply a small pea sized amount to the damp brush head and then before I start using the Clarisonic on my face I gently foam the cleanser up with my fingers and then start using it on my face. (I use a cream cleanser and eye makeup remover before every time just to remove the bulk of my make up) The first time I used it I didn't think that I would like it as the brush felt rough around my cheek area but then after a few times it began to feel softer so it may have been because the brush was new or I just wasn't used to it. But after I was shocked at how my skin felt so soft and smooth after the first using it and that my skin looked bright and luminous and I was left with a natural healthy glow.

I have been using it twice daily for a month now in the morning and evening after I remove my makeup. And the results are amazing I barely have breakouts and if I do have the odd spot appear it only last a couple of days as my skin is a lot cleaner than before so it has no dirt to get in it and make it worse, It has really improved the way my skin looks without makeup which is the best result for me as being a busy mum I don't always have time to put makeup on and since using it I feel a lot happier and confident as my complexion is a lot more even and my skin looks bright rather than dull and sallow like before.

I really am in love with the Clarisonic and I don't think I could go a day without using it now!

January favourites

I decided at the beginning of the year to make time to blog more and to try and get a monthly favourites done every month of this year and now here suddenly is the end of January! (so scary I really hope this year doesn't fly by like the last) so here are my January favourites.

My first favourite lip products this month is the Rimmel moisture renew lipstick in the shade 520 violet pop I have been loving this lipstick as it doesn't dry out my lips and the colour is gorgeous dark purple red colour which is a perfect winter colour.

The next lip product is the Urban Decay lip junkie lip gloss its a small sample that came with my Naked palette 2, I am in love with this lip gloss as it cools and plumps so it really makes my lips look fuller which is the main thing I love as I have really thin lips! The colour is really natural bronze shimmer so its perfect to wear over other colour lipsticks too. As soon as I've used the sample up this will be a definite future purchase and a definite must have for me.

Urban Decay Naked flushed palette, I got this in December and have been using it every day since I'm addicted! The blush is gorgeous as its a shimmery red colour which looks so nice on my skin tone. I also love that its so easy to travel with as It fits in my bag and I don't have to take two or three different pots around with me.

Real techniques Expert face brush is my favourite brush I have been using this month I had wanted this for so long and finally I got it for Christmas, like all the real techniques brushes it is super soft and feels amazing on my skin! I use it for my foundation as it gives me a flawless finish and is perfect to buff the foundation in for a natural look.

Trevor Sorbie beautiful blonde ice cool platinum UV shine protector spray is what I have been using on my hair a lot this month, even though I mainly bought this to use in the summer to protect my hair from the UV rays as my hair is very damaged from bleaching and curling. I've been using it more now though as it gives my hair a really natural healthy shine as like I said with my hair being damage its very dry and dull so it helps it look a lot healthier and it also smells lovely too!

Last in my favourites is the Right Guard Xtreme dry deodorant I had been using sure for the last 6 years and I found that it just wasn't working for me anymore, so I decided to try something new and this was my choice... and it was a good one it is fantastic for me it keeps me dry all day and I'm not feeling like I need to re spray it every two minutes like I did with the sure because it has 72 hour protection. The only thing I don't like is that it does leave white marks but I think you can buy one that doesn't so I'm going to try and get that one next but aside from that its my new favourite deodorant!
